Avoid Audience Response System Interference By Changing The Channel

Now that audience response systems, or ARS, are becoming more commonplace, especially in meeting environments, be sure to change the default channel so as to avoid interference from other audience response systems. With TurningPoint and ResponseCards, it’s very easy to do.

Changing the channel in TurningPoint

  1. Plug your USB receiver in
  2. Launch TurningPoint
  3. Click Tools on the TurningPoint toolbar
  4. Click Settings
  5. On the left menu, Click Response Device
  6. The default channel is 41. Change the value to any number between 1 and 82, except 41

Changing the channel of your keypads:

  1. Press the CH or GO button
  2. Enter the 2 digit channel (ex. 05)
  3. Press the GO button

By following these steps, you can greatly reduce the chance that you would receive any interference from another meeting the the same area. You would also want to use this method if you are running more than one event that is using ARS.
